I bought this heater to bring the temperature up in my garage in the winter when I need to work in there for the day. This heater can bring the temp up in my shop from around freezing to 60 degrees farenheit in less than 30 minutes. It is pretty much ready to heat right out of the box, all you need to do is attach it to your propane cylinder, check the connections and light it. People have commented on how much noise this style heater can make, but this 80,000 btu size isn't really that loud, especially after you get to a comfortable temperature and turn it back to the lower settings. The instructions are good, they give all the details on use and the caution measures needed for this type of heater.I would recommend this heater to others, yes.Customer Review: Great Heater

I purchased this heater to heat my 35 by 16 foot wood shop. An hour of running, on the low setting, will raise the temputure between 15 and 20 degrees. Because of the dangers of open flame and wood dust, I do not run the heater while using the shop. I project 8 or 9 hours of use on a 20 lb tank of propane.
Other reviews mentioned it being noisly, I find that the nose level is about the same as other heaters. It would be too loud to have running if I was listening to music, but is much quieter than many of my power tools.
I have stood within two feet of the heater and did not notice any excessive heat. The Carbon Monoxide detector in the shop has never gone off.

I purchased this heater to use while scuba diving during the winter months. For the size, it puts out quite a bit of heat. During bad weather I used this under a 10x10 pop up canopy pushed up next to a 7x12 enclosed trailer. The canopy was covered on 2 sides to leave one end open for ventilation. The outside weather was around 18 degrees F. The heater warmed the area inside the canopy to where no coat was needed, and warmed the inside of the trailer up enough that changing clothes was very comfortable despite the outside weather. It's a lil gas hungry on high, but can easily get 4-5 hours with the setting open all the way.

It arrived on time, assembly was easy and works exactly as advertised. Somewhat noisy, but this is to be expected from this type of product. Easy and dependable starting, and if warms you up like a campfire. Construction is inexpensive, sheet metal used is thin, making it light and easily transportable. I am using it in a large hangar and it's marginally effective, but tested it in my over sized two car garage and it warmed it up in 30 minutes. I like the variable control, once the space is heated you can crank it down, diminishing the noise and extending the life of your propane load. I was about to try to call Mr Heater when I decided to look on their website for information since my 80k unit was burning with a yellow flame. The manual says it's supposed to burn with a blue flame. The manual however seems to have been written for both the 80k and the 200k units. When I looked over their website I found a troubleshooting page that indicated the 80k unit burns with a more yellow flame than the 200k unit. I have no idea why they don't tell you this in the manual. I was about to try to send it back but now I'm ok with it and it heats great.
